Connect xbox to windows 7 crossover cable

Mike Hoxbig Honorary Master. Joined Apr 25, Messages 38, This does not make much sense at all. First you mention that you don't have a router, but then you say that your PC is connected via an rj45 cable to an "ethernet box"? Please be a bit more specific about what the "ethernet box" actually is. Brand and model number might help. How does your PC access the internet? Do you need to dial a PPPoE connection?

Where do you enter your ISP credentials? We can't help if you're going to be vague about the details. The internet I have is wireless. Theres a little router ontop of my roof which is actually a high frequency wireless router that connects to a tower 3 KM away. A cable comes from this router to a "power over ethernet box" in my room. I must use a lan cable and plug it into this little box to receive my internet "connection".

Now I installed a second lan card in my pc. I want to use a crossover cable and connect it to the Xbox from my PC. Two seperate cables here, one going to the little "power over ethernet" box which gives me my internet connection and the other cable from my PC to the Xbox console.

Oh and I am using Windows 7. Click on Off. If you follow all these steps, each computer should be able to access the other properly. You can check the connection by opening a command prompt click on Start and type in cmd and trying to ping the other computer. Just type the word ping followed by the IP address of the other computer.

Also, check out my other post that talks about all the other ways you can share files between multiple computers. If you are having problems, post a comment here and I will try to help! Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Thanks for your feedback. The device is displayed correctly under bluetooth, but not in device manager so i cannot update the driver manually and the downloads failed to fix the problem.

When you connect an Xbox Wireless Controller to your Windows 8. If Windows is not set to automatically download device software, you can check for updates through Device Manager. Bluetooth connections are not supported.

If the driver is still not updating through Device Manager, then there seems to be some unofficial workaround although, I'm not going to suggest them since they would obviously not be recommended by Microsoft.

From searching around the net it seems like quite a few are having this problem, and some seem to be suggesting Microsoft removed all official download sources for this driver, and eventually "broke" the Windows update for the driver. Instead of bumping an old topic, you might have better luck if you create your own topic that explains your issue.

As the others already said: Don't bump old threads, and create your own thread for this topic. You can't use Xbox One controllers on Windows 7 via Bluetooth. Also, if your PC supports it, you can still try to install Windows 10, and supply your Windows 7 serial number to license it. Do it before January , as Windows 7 then leaves support and won't get any security updates anymore!

We will be locking this older thread due to it being revived by a new post. We will be more than happy to answer any questions. Is there any solution to this?
